{"id":2717,"date":"2025-09-26T08:41:32","date_gmt":"2025-09-25T22:41:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/barrypangkungfu.com\/?page_id=2717"},"modified":"2025-09-26T22:22:47","modified_gmt":"2025-09-26T12:22:47","slug":"code-of-conduct","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/barrypangkungfu.com\/zh\/code-of-conduct\/","title":{"rendered":"Student Code of Conduct"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><big>Summary of the standards of behaviour expected in class.<\/big><\/p>\n<h4>Fundamental behaviours<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Respect<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Respect your instructors, who ensure a safe training environment.<\/li>\n<li>Respect fellow students&#8217; privacy, safety, and personal space.<\/li>\n<li>Respect the School, its elders, and its Kung Fu styles.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Non-violence<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Uphold a mindset of non-violence and not apply the methods of Kung Fu outside the premises unless threatened by actual physical violence and only when all other reasonable methods of persuasion have failed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Failure to meet these can lead to: warnings, suspension or expulsion.<\/p>\n<h4>Class etiquette<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Arrival<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Respect the training environment, bowing upon entry and exit.<\/li>\n<li>Wear a clean and tidy club uniform every lesson.<\/li>\n<li>Quickly line up according to your grades.<\/li>\n<li>Bow at beginning and end of each instruction period, as guided.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>During and after class<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Do not touch or instruct other students.<\/li>\n<li>Follow instructor guidance on safe, respectful partner work at all times.<\/li>\n<li>Do not disrupt the class.<\/li>\n<li>When watching sparring and demonstrations: Hands on hips, observe and learn.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>If arriving late:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Bow then enter class at the back.<\/li>\n<li>Warm up on your own first for about 10 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Wait for the instructor to invite you to join your correct place in the lines.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>If leaving early:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Put your hand up and explain the reason.<\/li>\n<li>If ill, inform the instructor and provide an emergency contact number.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Gradings<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Grading forms are to be filled out and fees given to the School before each Grading.<\/li>\n<li>The assessment at each grading is final.<\/li>\n<li>The awarded sash is to be worn with the uniform after the grading.<\/li>\n<li>Students cannot demand to go for certain grades. This will be decided by the School.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Wing Chun Ancestral Rules of Conduct<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Remain disciplined &#8211; uphold yourself ethically as a martial artist.<\/li>\n<li>Practice courtesy and righteousness &#8211; serve the community and honour your family.<\/li>\n<li>Love your fellow students or classmates &#8211; be united and avoid conflicts.<\/li>\n<li>Limit your desires and pursuit of bodily pleasures &#8211; preserve the proper spirit.<\/li>\n<li>Train diligently and make it a habit &#8211; maintain your skills.<\/li>\n<li>Learn to develop spiritual tranquility &#8211; abstain from arguments and fights.<\/li>\n<li>Participate in society &#8211; be conservative, cultured and gentle in your manners.<\/li>\n<li>Help the weak and very young &#8211; use your martial skills for the good of humanity.<\/li>\n<li>Pass on the tradition &#8211; preserve this Chinese art and its Rules of Conduct.<\/li>\n<\/ul>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Summary of the standards of behaviour expected in class.
